The capital is Uschgorod; the chief town of a district is Tjacovo. Formerly the political district was Maramarosch. The parish-office situated in Deutsch-Mokra belonged to the bishopric Szatmar (now Satu-Mare in Romania) and took care of all villages mentioned above.
