ROM-SIG Co-Coordinators (current as of this date:
Rosanne Leeson of Los Altos, California Leeson1@attglobal.net
Paula Zieselman paulaz@ix.netcom.com

Background: ROM-SIG is now functioning only as an Internet online Discussion Group, on JewishGen. The old ROM-SIG website is about to be completely redone.

Enclosed (as a link below) is a copy of the automated message from the ROM-SIG Listserv, the Welcome Message that goes to all of the subscribers to the ROM-SIG online Discussion List. This will certainly give you the basics. It went to all ROM-SIG members, explaining why it was needed to do away with the former dues-paying organization, and why they cannot collect any monies, for any reason. This is so you will have a better understanding of the current status of ROM-SIG.

Research Materials Coordinator: A Romanian-born ROM-SIG member, Bruno Segal at brunosegal@worldnet.att.net is handling the dealings with some of the academic ressearchers in Romania, regarding materials which we wish to obtain. He is now called the Coordinator, Research Materials.

According to Roseanne, "Our members are now instructed to enter their names/towns of research into the JewishGen Family Finder at:www.jewishgen.org/JGFF".

"We are trying to find a way to produce a newsletter, through a direct subscription service, through which individuals can subscribe directly."

"Funds remaining in our bank account will shortly be donated to a special account in JewishGen-erosity, to be used only for the purchase of materials for the ROM-SIG."
